Fast & Friendly Service
ALOP (Processing of Local Animals) was established to solve a critical problem in the Southeastern agricultural market: the lack of reliable, professional infrastructure for independent farmers. We are a family-owned, USDA-inspected poultry processing facility dedicated to serving producers across the Southeast.
I am Jay Collins. I grew up outside of Atlanta and attended Georgia Tech for my business degree and Emory University School of Law. While I have spent my career in professional services, I have always placed a high value on knowing the origins of my food. There is a distinct difference between buying from a massive commercial producer and buying from local farmers who raise their animals and produce their crops with care. My personal connection to this industry began when I got married and gained a brother-in-law who raises chickens here in Georgia. For years, I listened to him describe the logistical nightmares he faced trying to get his birds processed. Despite the growing demand for local food, he was constantly driving hours to find a facility, often dealing with scheduling issues or leaving with products that weren't cut or packaged well enough to serve his retail sales. It became clear that if we want local food and local farmers to succeed, we need better infrastructure. To build that infrastructure, I partnered with my father, who has spent his career serving the Southeast through the community banking industry, to launch ALOP. Together with the rest of the Collins family, we are committed to supporting the long-term health of the local agricultural industry.
ALOP was built to be the solution for independent farmers like my brother-in-law. Whether you are a farm producing 1,000 birds or a family raising 50 chickens in the backyard, we provide a consistent, professional service that gets your product to the table safely. We focus on the details that actually matter to your business. This means honoring our schedule and offering professional labeling and packaging that reflects the quality of your hard work. Crucially, our facility is USDA Inspected, enabling you to sell to your product at farmers markets, restaurants, and grocery storesWe are proud to bridge the gap between the Southeast's farmers and the communities they feed.
